Congress and the Repeal the 22nd ammendment

Amendment XXII: section 1 reads:

"No person shall be elected to the office of president more than twice, and no person who has held office of president, or acted as president, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected president shall be elected to office more than once"

I have been reading and communicating with many about constitutional issues and I am told many times "Why do you worry so much, nothing is going to happen, it's the law of the land. It has been there for many years and no one is doing anything to destroy it- You are just paranoid or scared..." or the famous, it wasn't meant to mean that...another instance of "relativism?"

I have read many articles as well as done some research into history, probably more than some to know differently. I have found the ones who tell me not to worry are the ones who, perhaps have never read at all or very little, maybe from unreliable sources.

As I have written in past posts, our first ammendment right has been completely desumated, manipulated and disgraced, our second, fourth ammendments and others are in the works and now, the latest?

I have also written about Obama and his agenda that no one seems to understand or believe, I have written about a larger agenda also that people believe is "conspiracy theory"

What do the two of these have in common? More defacing of our rights and freedoms. Not many know about the 22nd ammendment, perhaps they should become familiar with it quickly if you are concerned about a "dictatorship."

For the layman, it is simply this. If the XXII amendment becomes null and void, we are left with a reigning president who can stay in office as long as they wish irregardless of what the people think of him. We will have a dictatorship much like many other countries like Cuba where Castro has been forever, it seems, Saddam Hussein, Kim Jong-Il just to name a few. This is important and if violated will be one more nail in the coffin of our freedom as individuals and as a country.

It is evident to me that few will bother to speak out until they are affected personally, by then my friends, it will have been too late.

Reality or conspiracy theory? You decide, however the proof is given at the link below.

Actually, under the proposal we would still have elections every 4 years. That's called Democracy, not Dictatorship. The people still choose who goes into office...What the amendment would mean is that if someone GOOD is in office, he/she stays in office. This flip-flopping of sides, left, right, left, right...has done more damage to this country than agreeing to disagree and moving forward together. I think it's a great idea. But, we come here to discuss and agree to disagree, don't we?

Actually, first of all, if you look at the proposed bill you will find out that the repeal would not allow the four years to apply. Second of all, this is a violation of the Constitution, third of all,you are exposing your ingnorance due to the fact that this country is not a democracy, it is a "constitutional republic"

So this document and governmental system that has been the envy of countries around the world for centuries suddenly isn't good enough? I would assume that you must be on of the 27% of Americans that believe Socialism would outway the benefits of capitalism This would confirm the ignorance in your knowledge of government.

To even consider that if someone good was in office, that we would keep him in is ridiculous. Who then dictates what GOOD is? Would Obama be good because his support for homosexuals and the authorization to kill babies suppoted by tax payer dollars? Would Bush be good because he was on a spending spree, that he was religious, or that he really cared for the citizens of this country when much of what he did appeared to the contrary?

The flip-flop you suggest as a failure is more of a purifaction process to clean out the slothfulness andimmoral, unrethical behaviors to allow someone to put us back on the track that allows our country to prosper, to enjoy liberty and freedom.

What factual information would allow you to think that flip-flopping is wrong? Wouldd you prefer a dictatorship? People thought Hitler was good, castro was good, Mousillini was good...were they?If you suggest they were perhaps in the past you would have been brought up on charges of treason!!
