Should Christians be involved in Politics part 1

This is probably the number one problem I have with the churches in America, they seem to have lost their rightful place in this country and have become so scared of drawing attention to themselves that they shy away from anything immorally contraversial and Ibelieve are hugely responsible for the decline of our moral society through the lack of educating their congregations.

I we claim to be a Christian, everything we do should be done in His name (Colossians 3:17). Everything we do and say represents the King whose name we wear and whose ambassadors we are.

God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land where ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. For what nation is there so great, who hath God so close unto them, as our God is in all things that we call upon him for? And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day? (Deuteronomy 4:5-8)

What’s found in this last passage was once said about America by other nations“ before the ratification of the U.S. Constitution, back when the colonies were governed exclusively by the commandments, statutes, and judgments of God.

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:17-20)

Todays Pharisees are not the anti-Constitutionalists, but instead the original Framers and todays pro-Constitutionalists. Why do I say this? Because in dozens of instances, the Constitution replaced the laws and morality of God with the laws (i.e., the traditions) of men, which is precisely what God condemned the Pharisees for.

And to the statement, This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties [including the Treaty with Tripoli] made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, any thing [including Gods laws] in the constitution or laws of any state to the contrary notwithstanding. (Emphasis added.)

Do you look to the United States Constitution which is often found to be both contrary and adversarial to Gods laws as your supreme law, or do you look to Gods laws as supreme? You cannot have it both ways. How long halt ye between two opinions? (1 Kings 18:21)

Should we as Christians should rule the non-Christians or whether non-Christians should rule Christians.?

Article VI of the Constitution made the latter possible. God intends His subject to take dominion of this world and rule on His behalf (Genesis 1:26-28, Romans 13:1-4, 1 Corinthians 6:1-6, 2 Corinthians 10:4-6, etc.). Fulfilling this mandate is the difference between being the salt of the earth and being good for nothing but to be trampled under the foot of man (Matthew 5:13).

Article VI assured us that it will be the latter rather than the former, until enough Christians wake up and decide to tear down our national idol and build a Biblical government based solely upon Gods perfect laws and righteous judgments (Psalm 19:7-9)

At 2 Samuel 23:3, David said, "He who rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God."

But our present-day rulers have dishonored themselves and the offices they hold, and all of those who have contributed to the building of the wall between God and His children in America will suffer eternal punishment. However, if they had been held accountable by the citizens to be properly bound by the constraints of that Constitution for which you have so little regard, we would still be free men and women and the Church would no doubt flourish.

The solution is actually quite simple, it is profoundly difficult for the average Christian to fathom. The solution is found in believing Psalm 19:7-9, Isaiah 9:6-8, 33:22, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, etc., instead of just giving them lip service. The answer is a return to God's perfect laws instead of substituting them for the traditions of men.

Isa 33:22 For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.
