Legislation shutting out LGBT rights

I am a big proponent of "equal rights" and am saddened when I feel that people have not been treated with equality but I stand in support of the opposition to favor of LGBT rights.

I felt compelled to write this post after reading an article in the BW ( Legislators shoot down LGBT rights, 2/25/09 http://www.boiseweekly.com/gyrobase/Content?oid=oid%3A321446 )to try to give another perspective on why I believe this did not pass.

I consider myself to be a "true conservative" with "true conservative" values. I believe in biblical principles, biblical, civil, moral and natural law. Understanding this it would be impossible for me to consider that someones sexual preference would need legislation claiming that they deserve "equal rights." when it, in fact, it violates all of the laws stated above.

I am aware of the progression of "special interest groups" and have become frustrated that these minority groups feel that they have the right to take something that many still consider to be immoral and try to "force" people to accept it as "moral" and "acceptable" even to the point where they will become all but riotus in pushing their agenda even after amendments, through our Constitutional amendmrent process, have passed( IE: Prop 8). It is difficult for me to fathom a judiciary that would even consider recinding the amendment after it was clear what the people have decided. This to me is unlawful and unconstitutional and also gives aid to "special interest groups".

As Rachael stated in her article " I think it serves to validate the bigotry and hate in this state..."
she goes on to say that "It's a fundamental American concept-equality, humanity..."

Although I agree "equal rights" is considered a fundamental concept, the term "equal rights" in America has never equated to GAy/Lesbian/transgender lifestyles. If we continue to use quotes and terms from our founding fathers and the foundations of America, may I state the words of John Adams and many others :

"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." This is the beliefs of our founding fathers."

Moral is defined as:

with low moral standards, especially relating to sexual behavior encarta.msn.com/dictionary_1861698469/light.html
or
immorality - Acts or thoughts opposed to, inconsistent with, or in violation of moral law.www.slp.duq.edu/rentschler/ETHIC/Vocabulary.htm

Or another definition:" is to violate or go outside what is right." The reason why I believe this legislation did not pass is that there are still a large population that believes this is outside the moral boundaries of " right and wrong."

It is difficult for me to accept that just because we oppose this behavior and believe it is immoral does not mean we are hateful. If this is idea holds true would it be ok to say that the GLBT are hateful because they do not agree with the majority, the conservatives or the traditional family values?

Simply put, in my opinion, we live in a nation of laws. biblical law, civil law, moral and natural law. The way I see it is that the progression of these groups is unlawful in every area of law possible. They hit the streets in anger and will continue to push their agenda whether people like it or not which also happens to be, as our founding fathers stated "a violation of individual liberty.

We have arrived at what I believe to be "The cultural divide." Societies throughout history when reaching this point have either fallen into complete moral collapse of society or "A great awakening" has occured, no one willing to succeed, we both view eachother as wrong with no compromise in sight. What happens now? If history fortells the future we have two choices.

"Change" in our english language

Ever wonder where all the new meanings to old words come from? Some of these words according to many sources still mean the same thing but have become "politically incorrect" and therefore have had the meanings changed to minimize offending others to make these words sound more acceptable to society. What a difference 50 years makes.
Here are a few examples:

“Progressives” and “liberals” are Marxists.
“Conservativism” is counterfeit salt.
“Pro-choice” means pro-baby murder.
A “fetus” is an unborn child.
“Tolerance” means acceptance of sin.
“Gays” are sodomites.
“Affirmative Action” is white male discrimination.
An “undocumented worker” is an illegal alien.
The “mainstream media” are Marxists.
The “religious left” are humanistic socialists.
“Social justice” means advancement of homosexuality.
“Reproductive rights” is a buzz word for abortion.
“Sex education” is destruction of natural childhood modesty.
“Economic justice” is welfare.
“Government investment” means taxation.
“Sensitivity” means keep your mouth shut.
“Diversity” validates deviant ways to engage in sex.
A “Republican” is a socialist and a “Democrat” is a communist.
An “expert” is an academician with no practical experience.
“Public education” is atheistic, humanistic indoctrination.
“Separation of church and state” legalizes Christian discrimination.
Supreme Court “decisions” are opinions and are not laws.
“Christianity” is not a religion; it is a kingdom.
“Change” means Communism.

As I still have the right to my "freedom of speech," (for now) I feel that clarification was needed.

Second amendment clarity...

Second Amendment – The right to keep and bear arms.

"A well-regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

"The whole of the Bill [of Rights] is a declaration of the right of the people at large or considered as individuals…It establishes some rights of the individual as unalienable and which consequently, no majority has the right to deprive them of." –Albert Gallatin, October 7, 1789,

New York Historical Society
"...the people are confirmed by the next article in their right to keep and bear their private arms" – from article in the Philadelphia Federal Gazette June 18, 1789 at 2, col.2.

"That the said Constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the press or the rights of conscience; or to prevent the people of The United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms..." –Samuel Adams, Debates and Proceedings in the Convention of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, at 86-87 (Pierce & Hale, eds, Boston, 1850).

"The prohibition is general. No clause in the Constitution could by any rule of construction be conceived to give to Congress a power to disarm the people. Such a flagitious attempt could only be made under some general pretense by a state legislature. But if in any blind pursuit of inordinate power, either should attempt it, this amendment may be appealed to as a restraint on both." –William Rawle, A View of the Constitution 125-6 (2nd ed. 1829)

"The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered, as the palladium of the liberties of a republic; since it offers a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers; and will generally, even if these are successful in the first instance, enable the people to resist and triumph over them." –Joseph Story, called the father of America’s Jurisprudence, Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States; With a Preliminary Review of the Constitutional History of the Colonies and States before the Adoption of the Constitution [Boston, 1833].

"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and the keystone under independence." –George Washington

COMMENTARIES ON RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." –Thomas Jefferson papers

"It is not certain that with this aid alone [possession of arms], they would not be able to shake off their yokes. But were the people to posses the additional advantages of local governments chosen by themselves, who could collect the national will, and direct the national force; and of officers appointed out of the militia, by these governments and attached both to them and to the militia, it may be affirmed with the greatest assurance, that the throne of every tyranny in Europe would be speedily overturned, in spite of the legions which surround it." –James Madison, Federalist No. 46.

"To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of people always possess arms, and be taught alike especially when young, how to use them." –Richard Henry Lee, 1788, Initiator of the Declaration of Independence, and member of the first Senate, which passed the Bill of Rights, Walter Bennett, ed., Letters from the Federal Farmer to the Republican, at 21,22,124 (Univ. of Alabama Press, 1975)

"Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?" –Patrick Henry, 3 J. Elliot, Debates in the Several State Conventions 45, 2d ed. Philadelphia, 1836

"The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed." –Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers at 184-8

"The people are not to be disarmed of their weapons. They are left in full possession of them." –Zachariah Johnson

"A free people ought … to be armed …" –George Washington

"… the people have a right to keep and bear arms." –Patrick Henry and George Mason, 3 Elliot, Debates at 386

"Arms in the hands of citizens [may] be used at individual discretion for the defense of the country, the overthrow of tyranny, or in private self-defense …" –John Adams

"The great object is that every man be armed" and "everyone who is able may have a gun." –Patrick Henry, in the Virginia Convention on the ratification of the Constitution. Debates and other Proceedings of the Convention of Virginia … taken in shorthand by David Robertson of Petersburg, at 271, 275 2d ed. Richmond, 1805. Also 3 Elliot, Debates at 386

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms…disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater … confidence than an armed man." –Thomas Jefferson, quoting Cesare Beccaria in On Crimes and punishment (1764).

"The supposed quietude of a good man allures the ruffian; while on the other hand, arms like laws discourage and keep the invader and the plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside…Horrid mischief would ensue were one half the world deprived of the use of them…" –Thomas Paine, Writings of Thomas Paine, at 56,1894, Thoughts on Defensive War (1775).

"When firearms go, all goes; we need them every hour." –George Washington

"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks." –Thomas Jefferson, The Encyclopedia of T. Jefferson, 318, Foley, Ed.

When speaking in Virginia in a fiery speech for freedom, Patrick Henry proclaimed; "… an appeal to arms and to the God of hosts is all that is left us!"

Warning
"The beauty of the second amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it." –Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers.

IN closing, here are some facts that you may not know, just for an example:

Physicians:
a. The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.
b. Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.
c. Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171. (Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health &Human Services)

Guns:
a. The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000.
b. The number of accidental gun deaths per year (all age groups) is 1,500.
c. The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is 0.000188.

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
Should we create legislation to ban doctors?

Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do.

ACLU from a different perspective...

Many people I know, know little about the ACLU if anything and have always thought of them as supporters of traditional American values and the defense of our Bill of rights. This post is to give some information to reveal what many may not know.

Exclusion of other gods

ACLU and the borders
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/Read.aspx?GUID=70DDE185-9F69-4248-9C5D-71096B315D27

The ACLU is considered by many to be considered the "American Communist lawyers united"and for what may appear good reason.

They are known for the removal of prayer, our national motto "In God we trust",
the termination of "God bless America", "Under God" and removal of the oath of offices, removal of the ten commandments, the re-writing of history to deny our Christian heritage, anti-Christian billboards, hatred for the boyscouts, Prohibition of all (christian ) religious displays, dissolution of (Christian) religious clubs and meetings, symbols with biblical references, employment, schools, holidays...CHRISTMAS!! Just to name a few.

With some believing in the "separation of church and state" even though it is a lie, we should still not allow anyone to violate an individuals freedom of religion, giving "favor" to one group over another. Individual liberty is being violated while the ACLU gives favor to "special interest groups" and "other religions."

This nation was founded on the principles of Christianity, if the majority wants to change it then stop hiding it and make it a crime already, but have enough respect for the people to be honest enough to admit where we were at a time in history and that God, indeed was an integral part of our culture.

The "denial" and the preaching of lies to the ignorant is not only dispicable, it is the lowest form of disrespect and lack of integrity I can imagine.

This is not a problem for those who deny our Christian heritage but is a big problem for those who are intelligent enough to know our history. After all according to some references we still have an aproximateely 70% Christian belief while the Atheists make up only aproximatley 1.7% of the population. "Favor to "special interests" anyone?

Many also say that I am being ridiculous when I say that Christians are being persecuted. Can one look at this post and research the court cases and still defend their statement?

What the public does not know is that the ACLU is profiting in these cases by millions of taxpayer dollars as "atorney fee awards" reported by the American legion.

10 reasons to stop the ACLU

Does the ACLU have the right to call themselves American?

Communist Joseph Stalin said: “America, is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within.”Today, as in the past, we see the ACLU attacking America’s Patriotism, America’s Morality and America’s Spiritual Life".

A coincidence? It would be a stretch to convince one’s self that it is.

10. The ACLU was founded by Communist, with communist ideals, communist goals, and they continue to impose a Communist like agenda on America daily. The founder of the ACLU, Roger Baldwin stated clearly…
My chief aversion is the system of greed, private profit, privilege and violence which makes up the control of the world today, and which has brought it to the tragic crisis of unprecedented hunger and unemployment…Therefore, I am for Socialism, disarmament and ultimately, for the abolishing of the State itself…I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class and sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal.”

9. The ACLU does not believe in the Second Amendment.
ACLU POLICY “The ACLU agrees with the Supreme Court’s long-standing interpretation of the Second Amendment [as set forth in the 1939 case, U.S. v. Miller] that the individual’s right to bear arms applies only to the preservation or efficiency of a well-regulated militia. Except for lawful police and military purposes, the possession of weapons by individuals is not constitutionally protected. Therefore, there is no constitutional impediment to the regulation of firearms.”ACLU Policy #47

#8. Their outright hatred of the Boyscouts. They are currently doing everything in their power to hurt this organization. They attacked their free speech right to exclude gays, and are threatening schools, and fighting in court to get their charters shut down. The oppose the military supporting them, and will sue the pants off any school that attempts to charter them.

#7. The ACLU are pro-death. Not only is the ACLU Pro-abortion, it’s the ACLU’s top priority. It most definitely takes a backseat to free speech for the ACLU. As a matter of fact, the ACLU has fought against the free speech rights of those that oppose it. If its abortion or euthanasia, as long as its pro-death you can count on the ACLU to support it. The only exception to the ACLU’s pro-death stance, is if it is a convicted criminal; in this case they are against death.

#6. The ACLU advocate open borders. Not only have the ACLU opposed the Minute Men, a group who are simply exercizing their freedom of speech, protesting and stepping up where the government is failing, but they have helped illegals cross the border.

#5. The ACLU is anti-Christian. The list is endless on this one. Under the guise of “seperation of Church and State”, the ACLU have made a name for theirself on being rabidly anti-Christian. This is one area where they are most hypocritical. They oppose tax exemptions for all churches, but fight for them for Wiccans. They are against Christianity in school, but oddly remain silent as our children are taught to be Muslims. Whether its baby Jesus, ten commandments, or tiny crosses on county seals, the ACLU will be there to secularize America, and rewrite our history.

#4. The ACLU Opposes National Security. The ACLU have opposed almost every effort in the arena of national security. From the bird flu to bag searches, the ACLU have been against it. No matter what kind of search someone tries to do to protect people, the ACLU have proved they are against them across the board. Its kind of ironic that they don’t practice the principles they preach.
Take a walk into the NYCLU’s Manhattan headquarters - which it shares with other organizations - and you’ll find a sign warning visitors that all bags are subject to search.

#3. The ACLU Defend the enemy. They have a long history of this one. They defended the P.L.O. in 1985. They defended Quadafi in the 1980’s. And they continue today. They have told Gitmo detainees they have the right to remain silent, as in not talking to interrogators. One issue that really disturbs me is their refusal of funds from organizations such as the United Way that were concerned the money would be used to support terrorism.
In October of 2004, the ACLU turned down $1.15 million in funding from two of it’s most generous and loyal contributors, the Ford and Rockefeller foundations, saying new anti-terrorism restrictions demanded by the institutions make it unable to accept their funds.
“The Ford Foundation now bars recipients of its funds from engaging in any activity that “promotes violence, terrorism, bigotry, or the destruction of any state.”
The Rockefeller Foundation’s provisions state that recipients of its funds may not “directly or indirectly engage in, promote, or support other organizations or individuals who engage in or promote terrorist activity.”

#2. The ACLU supports child porn distribution and child molesters like NAMBLA.
As legislative counsel for the ACLU in 1985, Barry Lynn told the U.S. Attorney General’s Commission on Pornography (of which Focus on the Family President Dr. James C. Dobson was a member) that child pornography was protected by the First Amendment. While production of child porn could be prevented by law, he argued, its distribution could not be.
There is no doubt the The ACLU are perverting the Constitution.

#1. The ACLU fufills its agenda using my tax money. What more can I say on this one?

ACLU through their own eyes...

The ACLU was founded in 1920

It’s purpose, they claim "IS to challenge governments, to make sure that the Bill of Rights and it’s principles are protected". The American system of government is founded on two counterbalancing principles: that the majority of the people governs, through democratically elected representatives; and that the power even of a democratic majority must be limited, to ensure individual rights.

Majority power is limited by the Constitution's Bill of Rights, which consists of the original ten amendments ratified in 1791, plus the three post-Civil War amendments (the 13th, 14th and 15th) and the 19th Amendment (women's suffrage), adopted in 1920.

The mission of the ACLU is to preserve all of these protections and guarantees:

Your First Amendment rights - freedom of speech, association and assembly; freedom of the press, and freedom of religion.
Your right to equal protection under the law - equal treatment regardless of race, sex, religion or national origin.
Your right to due process - fair treatment by the government whenever the loss of your liberty or property is at stake.
Your right to privacy - freedom from unwarranted government intrusion into your personal and private affairs.

"we work also to extend rights to segments of our population that have traditionally been denied their rights, including Native Americans and other people of color; lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people; women; mental-health patients; prisoners; people with disabilities; and the poor."
If the rights of society's most vulnerable members are denied, everybody's rights are imperiled.

The ACLU was founded by Roger Baldwin, Crystal Eastman, Albert DeSilver and others in 1920. We are nonprofit and nonpartisan and have grown from a roomful of civil liberties activists to an organization of more than 500,000 members and supporters. We handle nearly 6,000 court cases annually from our offices in almost every state.
The ACLU has maintained the position that civil liberties must be respected, even in times of national emergency. The ACLU is supported by annual dues and contributions from its members, plus grants from private foundations and individuals. We do not receive any government funding.

The ACLU soon established its reputation by defending victims of the harsh Palmer Raids and taking on First Amendment cases having to do with free speech and religious liberty,

Roger Nash Baldwin-co-founder's personality was typical of a 1920s civil libertarian: An ardent pacifist who opposed World War I, he was also a communist for most of his early life, writing a book in 1927 on what he saw as the young Soviet Union's considerable potential to become a shining beacon of human rights. When the emergence of Stalin and the signing of the Nazi-Soviet Pact made it clear that this would not happen, Baldwin denounced communism.

Elizabeth Gurley Flynn 1940 expulsion of Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, a member of the ACLU's Board of Directors who openly belonged to the American Communist Party. The American Communists had by that point favored peace and neutrality in international relations, but this did not matter to Baldwin, who felt--presumably with a convert's zeal--that no Communist could be a civil libertarian. Flynn's removal from the ACLU board, more than a decade before.

Patick Murphy Malin-Malin (1950-63) Malin was phenomenally successful at building membership--from about 8,000 to about 60,000--by creating a powerful network of local ACLU activist communities. He failed to adequately protect Americans targeted by Joseph McCarthy and others during the second Red Scare, and even went so far as to leak private ACLU documents to J. Edgar Hoover in exchange for FBI surveillance information on political affiliations of Board members. Malin had presumably hoped to avoid the embarassment of having any ACLU board members outed as communists by McCarthy.

The defining conflict of the ACLU during the 1950s was between Malin and Corliss Lamont, a member of the ACLU Board of Directors who had written a 1952 book titled The Myth of Soviet Aggression. Although Lamont was not a member of the American Communist Party, he was targeted by McCarthy and received no substantial support from the ACLU.

By the end of Malin's tenure, the ACLU had become a largely irrelevant, moderate force in American policy. Beloved by many but feared by few, it took the correct positions on some issues--most notably filing an amicus brief against school segregation in the landmark Brown v. Board of Education (1954)--but was hardly the fearsome defender of civil liberties that it had once been, and would soon become again.
